Tracy Burpee serves the University of Virginia on the academic side, leading the Dual Career Program.

Full Bio

In this role, Tracy supports faculty recruitment and retention by assisting salaried faculty spouses and partners in their Charlottesville area job search. 

Before joining the University of Virginia in 2022, Tracy worked across different industries acquiring a strong background in Human Resources and Organizational Development. Her specialties include recruitment, engagement and inclusion, leadership development, and executive coaching. Tracy draws on these skills when working with faculty partners to help them find the right opportunities at the University and in the broader Charlottesville area. Tracy has been a guest lecturer at the University’s School of Continuing and Professional Studies and led SHRM Certification programs. Most recently, Tracy founded the Charlottesville Area Recruitment Network (CARN) to bring local recruiting professionals together in a collaborative setting.  

Tracy’s passion for people is clear in her work with the University’s faculty partners. She takes the time to learn about their skills and experience, as well as their non-work interests to ensure that they are able to make meaningful connections upon arrival in the Charlottesville area. Tracy holds a M.A. in Strategic Communications and Leadership (MASCL) from Seton Hall University and a B. A. in English from Northern Illinois University as well as many professional certifications in HR and Executive Coaching. 

In addition to her professional commitments, Tracy serves in a leadership role on the Board of the First Tee of the Virginia Blue Ridge. She enjoys playing golf, racquet sports, and traveling the world with her husband, Craig.
